Born and raised in Santa Maria, CA, Mauricio first came to Colorado with orders from the Army. Once he finished his service, he continued his education at Pikes Peak Community College before transferring to UCCS. Always amazed at the beauty of the world, he decided to study biology and plans to follow a career in plant science and conservation. Currently, he is Vice-President of the Ethnobotany club at UCCS and a member of the Psychedelics clubs. When he is not in the office or working on school, he enjoys his time with family and friends, going to rock concerts, hiking, gardening, and learning more about the natural world.
