Sustainability Minor

The Sustainability minor provides students with the knowledge and skills to address today’s most pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum, students explore key sustainability concepts, such as resource management, climate change, social equity, and ethical decision-making. This minor equips students with the tools to become effective leaders and innovators in a rapidly evolving world, promoting sustainable practices across industries and communities. Geography & Environmental Studies, BA

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies (GES) is to provide students with an understanding of the discipline of geography. This includes courses in physical, human, and cultural geography. Additionally, it offers a wide range of methods courses that introduce students to geographical information science and technologies(GIS&T).

High-achieving students will have the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Geography in an accelerated format. Our Accelerated Master's Pathway (AMP) enables eligible UCCS Geography and Environmental Studies (GES) majors to complete both degrees in a streamlined manner within five+ years. 

Physics, BS

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics is designed to help students attain their professional goals in physics. There are four options within the program to enable students to achieve their particular educational objectives:

  • Traditional Physics
  • Solid State Physics
  • Energy Science
  • Secondary Education

Women's & Ethics Studies, BA

Women's & Ethnic Studies (WEST) emphasizes cultural responsiveness, critical and cross-disciplinary thinking, creative and innovative teaching, community engagement, and local and global awareness.

This program aims to create an equitable and sustainable world by analyzing structural inequality from historical and cultural perspectives and exploring practical strategies for change. WEST offers one-on-one mentoring, small classes, travel courses, and a range of scholarship and internship opportunities.

Women's & Ethics Studies, BI

The Bachelor of Innovation program in Women's and Ethnic Studies (WEST) trains students to think deeply about the intersecting hierarchies of society. By blending WEST studies with entrepreneurship and business training, students are empowered to create innovative solutions that transform society.
